So for Mother's Day, Dale surprised me with a new camera! I had lots of fun taking random pictures of cute kids. The one above and below were my favorites. Hopefully I'll get better......

Tiara plays the violin - if you didn't know - and this was her last concert of the year. She auditioned for next year and was the only 6th grader to make it into the Chamber Orchestra (that's mostly 8th graders). She was very excited!

For Mother's Day we took Dale's mom to dinner in St. George and then stopped by New Harmony for dessert with my mom.

Dale and I went to Provo a few weekends ago to watch Tiara in a dance competition. Her team took 2nd place in all their dances. She did great.

On our way to Provo, we stopped by Nephi and saw Adam and Charla and Ashton. We took Ashton with us to stay in the hotel and swim! He and Tiara had such a good time. Isn't he such a cutie!

Morgan (Grad's Dance and Birthday)

So Morgan turned Sweet 16 on May 7th. For her birthday I took her to the Olive Garden for dinner...........

We had lots of fun. Morgan got a "fruity" drink.

After a huge dinner of cheesey raviolis, Morgan wanted dessert, so we got these

delicious donuts that you dunk in even more delicious chocolate donut frosting.

They brought it with a candle and then sang to her. Awww!

But THEN, the real fun started. Morgan had previously seen this really cute guy and kept telling me how cute he was. I couldn't see him, but I could tell where her was sitting. So after our dinner, I told Morgan that I needed to go to the bathroom but I really walked over to his table. He was there with his mom and dad and family. I said "excuse me, but how outgoing do you think this young man is?" They said that he was pretty outgoing - but he looked pretty shy! Anyway, I said "I have my daughter over here and it's her 16th birthday and I need a really hot guy to come over and take a picture with her." He said sure. Then I said, well ok, come on and he said "NOW?" He was so darling about it. He sat right down by her and put his arm around her. His name was Jason......

Then we went to Tuachan and saw Brian Reagan (a comedian). It was so funny!

When we got home at about 11:00 pm Tiara had hung this cute sign for Morgan - it says Happy Birthday! I got her the flowers earlier that morning when I took her whole Mohey group homemade cinnamon rolls at 6 AM!

That Saturday Morgan went to the Graduation dance with Chase.......He did pretty good at getting a matching tie, huh?

The Big 8 - 0!

I know I just posted about my weight - BUT I just hit 80 pounds lost and had to share! Only 2.2 pounds until my "weight watcher" goal - but then I'll try to lose another 5 at least - so I can have some "wiggle" room. : )

I made it past the 75 pound mark!!! So I thought a few "before" pictures might be in order. Here is from last May at Sundee's wedding (obviously...).

This is me with Brighton on August 25, about two months after beginning Weight Watchers on July 1st. I think I had lost about 20 pounds at this point.

This was a trip with my friends to celebrate us (Me and Myra, second from right) having lost 50 pounds!!
Jodee and me on New Year's Eve. I had lost about 62 by Christmas and my wonderful children and husband gave me tons of new clothes and this darling coat! Thanks, Jodee!

This was at Christmas time, too - but I just wanted to show you our 4 generation picture!

Now for the current picture. Whoo hoo!! Taken just a few days ago, having lost 77.8. My goal is to lose about 10 more and then start the maintaining process!

Taken this morning!!

I just want to put a HUGH plug in for Weight Watchers. I think it has made all the difference. Yes, it costs money, but I figure I'll re-coop it in medical costs that I will NOT have. I go to the meetings every week, I follow the "core" program, but I think that "points" works well too - just depends on you! I've learned to listen to my stomach and stop when I'm full (not stuffed). I've learned to substitute healthier things for junk food. I've learned to have the junk if I really want it and then just move on. If I blow it for a day, then I blew it. But more often now, I blow it for just one meal or one snack and then I get right back on track. I do exercise and that has really helped. I swim, I ride my stationary bike (thanks, kids!), I walk, I do weights. Anyway, Weight Watchers keeps me focused, encouraged and enthusiastic. We have a great teacher and a fun class. If you live in a big city, go to several meetings till you find the one that is fun!

AND a REALLY BIG THANK YOU to my family and friends and even people I don't know who have been so encouraging and telling me that I look good. It feels great!! Hopefully, in a month or two, I'll make my another post when I make my goal!! Wish me luck!

This is a picture of Dale sitting out in his rocking chair. Now that's nothing unusual for him, but I just thought it was comical that he's sitting outside when it's so cold that you have to have your hood on!! He loves to rock and he loves the outdoors!!

After visiting my sisters for a few days (pictures are forthcoming) I got to visit Jodee, Braden and Brighton for two whole days! It was so much fun. Brighton has changed so much since Christmas.
She just loves to open that mouth and smile, smile, smile. And she loves her bath!

When we went to dinner, she was sitting in a high chair facing the people as they left the restaurant. She is such a flirt and people just kept stopping and flirting back!

Dax and Ty

While we were having a little birthday
party for Dax (he turns 5 on the 25th!),
Ty had wandered over to the table and was
helping himself to a pan full of brownies!

So sometime during our Christmas festivities
I was doing nothing, really, and I realized
that one of my daughters was babysitting....

One was sewing (ironing first).......

One was cleaning.......

And one was cooking! I thought, Man, I did
a pretty good job! Seriously, though, it was
so much fun to have all my girls home. We
had such a good time together and they really
are wonderful girls (ok, some are women).

John got a nice Fossil Watch from Sundee.

Grandma didn't do so great at the grandkids
gifts (didn't check with the parents and got
some duplicate things). But THIS one was
a hit with Dax - Transformers!

I got the girls the movie "Sisterhood

of the Traveling Pants". Then I watched

it and cried through the whole thing!!

Christmas 08

I did the 12 days of Christmas for my
three grandsons. It was so fun. I mailed
alot of the gifts and drove some over to
their houses and knocked and ran! This is
Ashton (Adam and Charla's son) with his
12th gift - a nativity.

We got Dale a new kitty for Christmas!
Sundee and Mike got her in Vegas and
brought her up (along with their new cat)!

Dale's other cat died recently and so
he was very happy to get a new "kitty"!
She's so pretty!

We gave him the cat on Christmas Eve
so he wouldn't hear any meowing and know
what was going on! We surprised him good!

1.Where were you when you first found out that you were pregnant? I was at a Family Clinic in Long Beach. I lied about when my last period was so that they would do the test. I was only 7 days late and you had to be 10 days late.
2.Who was with you? My mom
3.How did you find out that you were pregnant? Peeing in a cup at the clinic.
4.What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant? I was really excited and kind of scared! I couldn't really believe it.
5.Who was the first person you told? Dale.
6.Did you plan to get pregnant? Well birth control was a pain so we just decided to quit using any and see what happened!
7.Did you tell everyone else right away? It's been so long I really can't remember - but I think we just told everybody.
8.Was everybody happy for you? I think so.
9.Did you go out and celebrate? No.
10.Did you want to find out the sex? No, this was the 70's - no ultra sounds, nothing!
11.What was the sex? A boy
.12.Did anyone throw you a baby shower? Yes, my sister, Carla.

14.How much weight did you gain? This I do remember - 60!!!
15.Did you lose all of the weight that you gained? Actually, I did - within about 9 months I had lost 70 lbs which put me at my wedding weight.

17.What did you crave the most? I was so sick, I don't really remember much of anything tasting good.
18.Did you crave anything crazy? No, but whenever anything finally sounded good I just ate alot of it.
19.Who or what got on your nerves? I was pretty bitchy, but smells were really hard.

21.Where and when did you go into labor? Home at about 10:30 pm.
22.Did your water break? Yes, it broke when I was on the toilet at home about 10:45 and then kept dripping down my legs as we hiked up a hill to the hospital!!

24.Who was in the room when you gave birth? Dale, the doctor and some nurses.
25.Did you go early or late? on time, thank you.
26.How long were in labor for? well, I was in labor at home for about 1 1/2 hours, but I wasn't about to go to the hospital until midnight cause I didn't want to get charged for an extra day. I walked into the hospital at 12:01 and Garrett was born at 4:20 am.
27.Did you have any drugs for the pain? None.
28.Did you go natural or have a C-section? Natural.
29.What was your first reaction after giving birth? So relieved ! I said "Oh, look at the little baby". The doctor said, "honey, there's nothing little about your baby"!
30.How big was the baby? 9 lbs 5 oz. 21 inches
31.Did your husband cry? No - but he was pretty overwhelmed
32.What did you name the baby? Garrett Joseph Heit
33.Does his name have any significant meaning? Elder Garrett was Dale's first missionary companion and Joseph is my grandfathers name.
34.Did you have any visitors? Yes, my Mom and Dad, Dale's parents and my brothers and sisters.

No, I didn't just turn 50 (I wish)! But I did pass the 50 pound mark on my weight loss (51 to be exact) and at Weight Watchers you get a bronze-medal-thing! I'm going shopping with some friends this weekend (a girlfriend get-away). I think I'm going to buy some clothes!!! Check out my ticker thing to the right! I copied Kelli :) Only 35 pounds to go! Wish me luck cause I know it's going to get harder.

We all went to Rusty's for Mom and Dad's

58th anniversary. Jay, Rod and Rebecca,

Jami and John, and Dale and I were there.

Then we went back to our house to watch

a VIDEO!!! But is was fun because it was

an old video of when we did a program for

mom and dad's farewell when they went on

their mission to Spain. So 1984 was pretty

funny to watch.

Looks like Rod and Rebecca need a little

more alone time!!

Ok, so I guess Jodee has "tagged" me and now I have to list 6 of my quirks. I hope I've got this right. Here goes:

#1 I can't stand anything uneven. Pictures on the wall, spaces in something I'm typing. Rugs have to line up with the counter, etc.

#2 I don't know if this is a quirk as much as a personality trait, but I can't stand to be "told" what to do. Even if it's something I want to do, if someone tells me I have to, then forget it!

#3 I count things. Anything. I just find myself counting things all the time.

#4 I can't stand to think of "eternity" and things going on forever. It's gives me the "willies". I'm getting them right now just talking about it.......

#5 You can ask my kids and they'll confirm this one. I cannot stand my nose to be touched. If any of my kids ever did, they got in so much trouble!!

#6 I totally can't stand my fingernails grown out at all. I have to trim them constantly - that's kind of a new thing, I used to like to grow them out, but now it makes me feel grimy.

Ok, Jodee, hope you're happy.

Weight Watcher Update #3

So, last Wednesday at WW I had lost 4.6 pounds! That's a total of just over 35 pounds. Myra is right there with me and Vicki hit her 20 pound mark. Ok, still no picture, but soon! I've bought pants that are NOT plus size! Woohoo! However, to put this all in perspective, when I weighed in last Wednesday, I weighed EXACTLY what I weighed when I was 9 months pregnant with Garrett. Sad, huh? It's ok, though, I'm still losing and I feel and look better. That's what counts, right? Oh, also, I got a new calling as counselor in the Primary Presidency. Myra is the president! So when we have meetings we can for sure have healthy treats - right? Wish me luck with all those little kids!!

Weight Watcher Update #2

Ok, so I did take a picture at WW last night of myself and my friend, Myra holding our cute little keychains (for losing 10%) and our cute little charm for losing 25 pounds! BUT, I can't seem to download it -- so nevermind. We are thinner, obviously, but I don't think it shows up too good with a camera yet anyway. So, Myra has lost 29 and I have lost 28! I feel great but know that there is still a long road to go. But that's ok because I'm not on a tight time schedule - next fall is my ultimate goal and I'm changing for life not just for a period of time. I'm eating healthier and drinking tons more water than I used to. So, for anyone else working on losing weight - keep it up! I'm right there with ya!

Well, now that she's over two weeks old,
I thought I should put some pictures of
our first granddaughter on my blog!
Yea, I know that picture is sideways,
but, I'm old, what can I say!! But that
was Brighton at her first doctor's appt.
I kept her happy and sleeping.

I know she kind of looks like she's in pain,
but I love this picture cause she's only
2 days old and she lifted her head up for
so long and had such big eyes!

Don't be confused, this is Sundee holding
Brighton. Sundee came with me to help
Jodee for a week. It was so much fun!
But mostly Sundee just wanted to
"play" with Brighton. . . . .no, actually
she was a big help and even got up in
the middle of the night with her
a couple of times.

"Grandma, can't I please go home with you?"

Leaving Brighton was really hard, but
leaving my daughter was even harder!
I cried all the way home. But Jodee and
Braden are great parents - it was so much
fun to see them with their daughter.
I miss you guys!!! Can't wait till Christmas.

Weight Watcher Update

Ok, so no picture this time (cause there's not that much difference!). But as of yesterday, I have lost 15 pounds. I feel alot better. One of the friends in the original picture has lost 15 as well and the other one 11. So we're doing good! I'll keep you posted! Maybe after about 25 pounds lost I'll post another picture.

Ok, I promise I won't post each grandkid's
birthday. . . . but you can RARELY get
a picture of Ty - he just won't sit still for
it! So I thought I'd share a few rare

brought for Dax - but Ty didn't really

A Soothing Environment

I'm not posting this so you can see my
new bedspread. But before this bedspread
we had a fairly bold gold and red theme
going. It was just really interesting
after I bought this ensemble I kept
walking in my room and having a
feeling of "ahhh". I realized after awhile
that it really is true what they say
about some colors being calming.
I just love going in my room and it
always calms me ....... Interesting, huh?

Dale and I have the chance to go to Chicago
for a business seminar. It was so fun!
First thing we did on Thursday was take
the L train to downtown (we were staying
out by the O'Hare airport) and go to
the top of the Sears Tower.

These are the views from on top. I really
could not get over how flat it was! People
have told me over the years, but I thought
there would be a small hill or something!
Nope, flat, flat, flat. You can even see
the curvature of the earth!! And the view
was 360 degrees.

You didn't know Dale played basketball,
did you?

Someone recommended this place for
some really good Chicago-style pizza.
It was really good, but very different.
It was a real "Pizza Pie" We were
stuffed after one slice!

This is just a shot of the seminar. There
were so many people at this one. We've
gone to others that were smaller. But
we still learned alot and were glad we
went.

On Friday night, Sam (the facilitator
of the conference) took all the members
on a lake cruise with a nice dinner
on board.

Casey's Farewell

Well, Casey's leaving this Friday for
Ohio. And in case I've neglected to tell
someone - he's taking a job with
Honda in the Motorsports Design Dept.

So . . . we had a little family get-together
last night at our house.

Well, Morgan is on the dance drill team
at Cedar High (if you didn't know). It's
Mohey Tawa and if you remember Jodee
was on that team too (for three years!)
Anyway, this was the Fourth of July
Parade and was their first performance.

She forgot to tell me that she would
be on THAT side of the street. . . . . .
She had a blast! Tiara was in the same
parade, but I had a camera malfunction
when she came by - sorry, Tiara.

Weight Watchers

Okay, so I really hate this picture, but . . .
My friends and I joined weight watchers
yesterday and I took a picture so we
can record our progress. Yes, there will
be progress! I decided to put it on my blog
so I can keep you all updated and so it's even
more of a committment. Kind of like
how Jodee put her belly on every few weeks
and we saw her getting "bigger". Only, this
will be the reverse and you will see me (and
my friends, hopefully) getting smaller.

Lake Trip

So we went to Sand Hollow Lake to
celebrate Adam and John's birthdays!
Yes, more birthdays for us!! (Adam
turned 29).Dad andMorgan are enjoying
the 105 temperature

So Casey had a great idea to have a
slip and slide at the lake (some people
never grow up!). He rented a water
pump and some major hoseage and Mike
got over 100 feet of plastic. The above
picture is the first attempt. But, no,
that was not steep enough or fast
enough! So . . . .

They hauled everything down the shore
about 50 yards and made a much
steeper, faster slip and slide.

Yep, 100 feet of plastic with lake water
being pumped to the top and shooting out
of a very large hose!

John Turns 20!!

Ok, so awhile back I actually called John's
boss regarding his insurance. Well, I
guess that is a big no-no and John got
made fun of ALOT by Adam
(they work together) and some co-workers.
PLUS . . . I got teased alot because his
"Mommy" called! Anyway, Dale had the
great idea to embarrass him some more
on his birthday. So I got a big bouquet
of balloons and I took them to his work!

The funniest thing was that when I got
there, no one could find him. So by the
time we found him, the whole shop was
gathered around!

John was VERY surprised!!

He tied them to his toolbox.

Adam was in on it - this is John giving

look too worried. I took Sundee along

Tiara's Birthday

This is a busy birthday season for us!
Tiara turned 11 on June 16th. We just
had a quiet family party.

She Loves movies! These were from

Sundee Gets Honored!

I know this isn't a very good picture, but I only had my cell phone. Anyway, Sundee was inducted into the International Honorary Society for the College of Business - Beta Gamma Sigma. It's for those who are in the top 10 percent of their class. We're really proud of her! She's graduating with her masters in accounting on May 3rd! (Yes, the day after Casey graduates from the University of Utah . . .) Busy week.

Jodee and Braden got the test results back for their baby girl and it was NEGATIVE! So thanks for all you thoughts and prayers.

Well, we have just a little bit of a worry here. Jodee went for a second ultra sound because the baby's kidneys were slightly enlarged and there was something on the heart. Both were "soft" indicators of Down Syndrome. But at the second ultra sound they checked other things like little or no nasal bone, length of legs and skin thickness on the back of her neck, which are "hard" indicators for Downs and the baby did not have those. They took a blood test that will let us know further and the results will be back in a week or so. Jodee, bless her heart, has cried alot and been very worried - but she says that she and Braden feel strongly that the baby is ok. So, please keep them in your prayers!!
